This Privacy Policy applies to the SurveyIOS mobile app and the surveyapp.org web dashboard (together, the “Service”) — an internal field-data collection and reporting tool for authorized employees and contractors. It is not a consumer product and is distributed privately. This policy explains what the Service collects and how it is used.

Information we collect

  • Email address — used to authenticate you and identify your account.
  • User identifier — an internal account ID used to attribute survey entries to the person who recorded them.
  • Precise location(mobile app) — used to detect the specific retail store you are surveying and to record the store’s location.
  • Coarse (approximate) location (mobile app) — used to determine the general region for survey routing and reporting.
  • Basic technical data (web dashboard) — standard server and session information such as log records and a login session cookie, used to keep you signed in and to operate and secure the site.

We do notcollect your name, contacts, photos, health, financial, or advertising data. The app’s camera is used only to scan product barcodes in real time; no photos or video are stored or transmitted.

How we use it

Collected data is used solely to operate the Service: to sign you in, to associate survey entries with the correct store and region, and to maintain accurate competitive-intelligence records. Precise location may be sent to a mapping provider (Google) to identify the nearby store; this is a first-party functional lookup, not advertising.

Cookies

The web dashboard uses a session cookie strictly to keep you logged in. It is not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.

Tracking

We do not track you across other apps or websites, and we do not share your data with data brokers or advertising networks. The Service does not display ads.

Sharing

We do not sell your data. Data is stored using infrastructure service providers (hosting, database, and mapping) engaged only to operate the Service on our behalf. It is not shared with any other third parties.

Retention

Data is retained while your account is active and as needed for internal business records. Requests regarding your account data can be directed to the contact below.

Children

This Service is intended for authorized adult employees and contractors and is not directed at children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy; the effective date above reflects the most recent revision.
